Established in 1992 in the small mining community southwest of the City of Tucson and west of the Town of Sahuarita. Helmet Peak Fire covers an area of approximately 30 square miles and provides services for approximately 3000 residence of Curly Horn Ranch, Ocotillo Ranch, Wrangler Ranch and Flying Diamond Air Park. HPFD also provides services to the University of Arizona's San Xavier Mine Training Facility and the Komatsu Corporation.
Helmet Peak Fire Department is an all volunteer department and is a 501(c)3 non-profit and a member in good standing with the Arizona Corporation Commission. The department is governed by a 3 member fire board that is elected by the community.

HPFD is an all volunteer fire department. We operate off of grants, donations and subscriptions. All funds received go to maintenance of the station, apparatus and training. We are a non-profit, 501(C)3 so your donations are tax deductible.
